We had a wonderful service at St Lukes church led by year 3 and 4 children.

They retold the parable of the generous Widow who shared her last loaf made with flour and oil with Elijah. Because or her generosity the jars were miraculously filled up again. The children did a brilliant job of linking these to our school values:

Elijah gave the widow and her son hope that God would provide and that they would have food. Hope that things would get better.

Elijah showed wisdom because he knew that God would provide food. He remembered that God had not broken His promises before.

The widow showed love by giving Elijah some of her food even though she had very little

There was wonder in the story because it was a miracle that the pot of flour and jar of oil never emptied!
